YORK MAZE Job Application Form Summer 2019

You have chosen the greatest place to work in Yorkshire!

Please read all sections carefully, and answer where required!

We looking for happy, outgoing, fun loving and hardworking people to join our award winning team!! York Maze prides itself on its staff, and we try and do things a bit differently to other places. We believe you should be having fun at work, and this reflects through our whole ethos.

We believe York Maze has one job, and that is to...

But how are we going to do this?? It’s easy……….

Have Fun

Have fun at work, share a laugh with everyone you meet. Chat to our visitors, tell jokes, sing songs and be silly. Happiness is infectious (happy staff = happy visitors)

Be Kind

Look after yourselves, your colleagues and our visitors. Be honest and fair in all you do. If you can see someone needs help, help them. If you need help with ANYTHING please ask. We are all here for each other.

Work Hard

Take pride in the job you are doing, be proud of our attraction, it is you that makes it what it is. Keep the place spotless. Do your job to the best of your ability.

These 3 things will ensure you….

Exceed Expectations

Most people expect theme park staff to be disinterested kids who look like they would rather be somewhere else. We pride ourselves on our team being the opposite of that!! If you can do the 3 things above, people will really appreciate it, and they will share their happiness too!

York Maze is not the biggest attraction in Yorkshire, and it may not have a load of great rides…..But we can still give people the best day out of the summer!!

We do this by treating our visitors like royalty!! Our great team has won the “best customer service” award at the Yorkshire tourism awards, and we are very proud of this. If you feel you can help us be even more amazing, then we would love to hear from you.

We have a wide variety of jobs on offer, suiting people with all sorts of different skills.

  • Retail and sales (tickets/food/activities)
  • Role play & acting (in our shows)
  • Play supervision (slides, games, inflatables)
  • Food prep and service
  • Hosting groups and storytelling (trailer rides, pig racing)
  • Litter picking, site maintenance etc
  • Tractor driving

Ideally you would be available to work 5 days a week right through the season including some training days the week before we open.

We open on July 13th through till the 3rd of September.

Priority will be given to applicants that can work the full season, 5 days a week, but we will consider applications from people that would like to work part of the season, or less than 5 days a week.

You will need to be able to get to the maze, the bus service is not brilliant, and so car or push bike is best.

Pay Rates are:

  • £5.00/hr for under 18’s
  • £7.00/hr for 18-20’s
  • £8.70/hr for 21-24’s
  • £9.20/hr for 25’s and over

Most jobs start at about 9.30am and finish about 6ish.

You will need to have an outgoing, happy personality! You will be meeting thousands of new people each day. If you don’t like chatting to new people, please do not apply!

You will need to be adaptable, some days we can be very quiet and you may get bored, and some days we can get over 3000 visitors and you will not have time to think.

You will be the faces of York Maze; you are the most important part of the business. When people leave, it is you that they will remember; you have the chance to make their day fantastic. We will give you the power to do this!!
