We are looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join the office team for 5 months during our busy visitor season, starting mid-June and finishing mid-November. This role is primarily office-based and involves communicating with customers through multiple channels. You will be the first point of contact for many of our visitors, ensuring every customer receives helpful, friendly and efficient service when planning or managing their visit. As a small team flexibility is key and you will be involved in many other aspects of operating a busy visitor attraction. York Maze prides itself on its staff, and we try and do things a bit differently to other places. We believe you should be having fun at work, and this reflects through our whole ethos.

Focus on the job you are doing, and work hard at it. You are being paid to work! The visitors are your priority at all times, give them ALL your attention.
• Respond to customer enquiries about visiting York Maze & Hallowscream/Hallowtween
• Assist customers with booking tickets and amendments to bookings
• Manage enquiries and bookings for group visits
• Respond to queries via phone, email, and social media messages
• Provide clear and helpful information about the attraction and visitor experience
• Dealing with lost property
• Support the admissions team, welcoming visitors and checking tickets
• Support the staff in the gift shop, working behind the till, restocking
• Issue staff uniforms & recording allocations
• Manage first aid supplies
• Support the Office Manager with general administrative tasks
This is a full-time seasonal role averaging circa 35hrs pw, however the working pattern is incredibly varied and changes with our seasonal opening hours and workload. Flexibility around your working hours is key. Summer Season July & Aug, typically working 8am – 3pm Monday – Friday with some weekend working. Halloween Season mid – end Oct typically working 1pm – 7:30pm 6 days pw Tuesday – Sunday. Outside our opening dates you will be working 4 or 5 days pw circa 9am – 5pm helping prepare for opening and then packing down at the end of the season.
A bonus of £2000 will also be offered subject to satisfactory cornpletion of the five month corntract.
* Statutory holiday entitlement is already included in the hourly rate quoted, so there are no additional paid holidays. However you can request days off (unpaid), though these need to be outside our opening dates (September is an ideal time to take time off!).
There is no public transport to York Maze, so you will need to be able to get here.
